The Cubs Section at 19th Prestwich is very popular with the community, with fun and adventure at the heart of everything we've done for over 70 years! The leaders share a real passion and enthusiasm for bringing the adventures and opportunities they had as Cubs to the young people of the local area, whether it be the excitement of our themed camps and trips (including Harry Potter / Star Wars camp, Pirates beach trip, Christmas ice-skating) or the fun of our educational trips (Museum of Science and Industry, urban hikes). Our weekly meetings run for an hour and a half in the den and are packed full of games, and in the Summer we venture out the Drinkwater Park (opposite the den) for wide games. All the activities we participate in hold both fun and educational benefits for each child and contribute towards the many badges available for Cubs to earn during their time in the section. Following Cubs comes the Scouts section, which develops the skills learnt in Cubs and builds on the independence and teamworking skills, with an even larger focus on the outdoors, whilst maintaining the same level of action in our games and events.
